Dr. Lalith Amaratunga, a Senior Lecturer at Uva Wellassa University is currently the Head of Department of Export Agriculture of the Uva Wellassa University. He worked as the Extension Manager of the Tea Smallholdings Factory Limited, a subsidiary company of John Keels Company Limited. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Advisory officer in the Advisory and Extension division of the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Agriculture of Ruhunu University and his Masters and PhD degrees from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors organization in tea industry and is currently engaged in teaching and research in agricultural extension. He has also successfully conducted several Agri-business, Market and socio-economic development projects towards the benefits of organizations and well-being of the society of Sri Lanka.
