Mr. Janaka Rajasinghe, who obtained his first degree from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Peradeniya, later obtained his postgraduate degree in Agricultural Extension from the Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture of the same university. After obtaining his basic degree, he joined the Advisory and Extension division of the Tea. Research Institute of Sri Lanka and worked in the capacities of Extension officer, Advisory Officer, a Senior Advisory Officer, a Principle Advisory Officer and an Officer in-charge in Passara, Deniyaya and Kandy Regional centers during his thirty-five years’ service period. After working as the Principle Advisory Officer of Ratnapura and Kandy Regional Centers he retired from the services of TRI. As a Senior Extensionist, he played an important role in the development of tea industry.
